Information for the Week of January 20, 2020

PHSA Teacher Appreciation Letter – Please see the attached letter from the PHSA regarding how to best thank our teachers for all that they do.
NEW Rescheduled 80’s Dance – Due to inclement weather the 80’s Dance was postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, March 28 from 7-11pm. More information will be included in next week’s bulletin. If you purchased tickets for the January 18th event they are still valid for the new date. A new link will be sent next week if you did not previously purchase tickets and would like to attend. Catholic Schools Week Schedule – Catholic Schools week is January 27-31 Visitation will occur on Monday, January 27 through Wednesday, January 29 from 8:30-10:45. On both Monday and Tuesday you will be visiting during periods 3-11 and on Wednesday you will see periods 20-27. Thursday, January 30 will again be a pajama day. The students need to wear school shoes (no slippers!) since they will go outside if the weather permits. Friday is our traditional Spirit Day. They may wear any purchased spirit wear or anything blue and/or gold. Dismissal Friday, January 31 will be at 12:10. School will be closed on Monday, February 3rd.
NEW Re-Registration – Re-registration for the 2020-2021 school year was sent via and email last week. If you did not receive it please email Lauren Calva at [email protected] and a new email will be sent. Just a reminder that your child will not be considered enrolled until all checklist items are complete. If you will not be returning to St. Ursula for the 2020-2021 school year, please respond to this email. This information will enable us to prepare for the upcoming school year.
Facilities Committee Volunteers Needed – We are in need of members to volunteer for the School Board facilities committee. If you are interested or have questions please contact Tim Iannuzzi at [email protected]. This committee meets every other month on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting will take place in March.
Spaghetti Dinner Volunteers – Believe it or not it is almost time for our annual Spaghetti Dinner. This year’s dinner will be held on February 23rd from 2:00-6:00 pm in the school auditorium. We are looking for volunteers to help make this as successful as last year’s. Attached is a flyer with additional information including the hours that we need volunteers.
Fathers’ Club Tuition Raffle – Don’t forget to return your tickets for the tuition raffle. The prize will be the cost of SUS tuition for one student or cash valued at $5k. Each family received two tickets to sell. It is not mandatory to sell these tickets, however we ask that if you do not sell them please send back into school. Cost this year for one ticket will be $20. For every five tickets sold, that household will receive a $10.00 Amazon gift card. Ice Skating Fundraiser – School is closed on Monday, February 3 and the PHSA would like to invite you to an ice skating fundraiser at The Avenue at White Marsh from 1:00-4:00p.m. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to SUS. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
Chipotle Night – Join us on February 5th at the Parkville Chipotle, 7711 Harford Road from 5:00-9:00 pm. We will receive 33% of the proceeds. Please take the attached flyer with you. Hope to see you there!
Mother-Daughter Sweetheart Dance Party - Moms (maternal care givers) and SUS daughters, get ready to dance the night away with this year’s Mother/Daughter dance that will be Valentine’s themed. Last Chance February Hot Lunch – If interested it is time to purchase Chick-fil-A, Dominick’s and/or Subway for your child. Please check with your child before ordering to make sure they are eating what you order for them. Parish Life:

During Super Bowl weekend (February 1st and 2nd) our Youth Ministry will be collecting canned goods and money after each Mass for the #tacklehunger initiative in our local community. Help support our youth and the hungry.
Parish Pilgrimage – Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a one day retreat to the St. John Paul II Shrine in Washington, D.C. on February 8, 2020. See the attached flyer for details and registration.
Lenten Scripture Study – Join the Parish for an eight part study that unveils Jesus’ plan for happiness in the Beatitudes. It begins on February 25th. See the attached flyer for details and registration.
