Information for the Week of May 13, 2019

  1. Add-On Day – Wednesday, May 22, will be an Orioles/orange and black add-on courtesy of the Student Council.  This in support of the Special Lunch ballpark food theme.  No nail polish, face paint, or colored hair is permitted.
  2. PHSA Seeking Grade Representatives – The PHSA is seeking grade representatives for the upcoming school year.  Please see the attached letter for details and a tear-off to return if you are interested. 
  3. Volunteer Sign-Up for Savers Clothing Drive Fundraiser – We are in need of people to help with this fundraiser this weekend.  Service hours do apply for the 2019-2020 school year.  Go to the Sign-Up Genius to register.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F094BAFAB23A3FB6-savers1
  4. Volunteers Needed  for TV Installations – We are looking for 1-2 volunteers that would be willing to help install Smart TVs in five of our classrooms.  Experience with TV mounting and installation is preferred.  TV installation times are flexible.  Ideal times would be Tuesday or Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.  After June 16, Thursday evenings are also available.  Service hours do apply.  Please email Mrs. Zimmerman at [email protected] if you are interested or have questions.  Thank you.
  5. Summer Reading – Information for summer reading was sent on Tuesday, May 14 to parents with students entering grades 6-8.  The tear-off with your child’s reading circle choice is due on Wednesday, May 22.  Emails will be sent for students entering grades 2 – 8 on Monday, May 20. 
  6. Letter Regarding School Drinking Water – See the attached letter from Mrs. Glinowiecki regarding testing of our drinking water.
  7. Extended Day Registration – If you are in need of before or after care it is time to register for next year.  Attached are the packets which include the registration application and all of the necessary forms.  Please note that there is a different packet for PK to complete.  The deadline has been extended for registering until Tuesday, May 21.  If you register after this date your child will not be able to start until September 16, 2019. 
  8. Lucky 1500 Tickets – Two tickets for the next 21 week drawing will be sent home next week.  All families who did not opt out of fundraising are required to sell a total of four tickets for the upcoming school year.  Two will be sent home next week and two additional tickets will be sent in November or early December.  If you are interested in buying/selling more please email the school office at [email protected].  You will receive 1.5 service hours for every ticket bought/sold.

  1. Don’t Forget - Savers FUNDrive – SUS will be collecting donations of clothes and household goods on Sunday, May 19 from 8:00 – 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 20th from 7:30-8:30 a.m.  Please see the flyer for goods and collection details.  Books will not be accepted.
  2. Sweet Frog Fundraiser -  Join us on May 29th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Nottingham, Sweet Frog.  SUS will receive 20% of the proceeds.  See the flyer for details.

Summer Camps: 
  1. Update STEM Summer Camp –   St. Ursula is hosting a summer camp in conjunction with Baltimore Robotics/Star Academy from July 8-12, 2019. We currently have eight children registered for the afternoon session (incoming grades 6-8).  We need at least ten children or the afternoon session will be cancelled.  We still have some openings in the morning session (incoming grades 3-5).   We need a minimum of 10 for each camp to run and there is a maximum of 20 spots available.  All information can be found at the registration link for the St. Ursula Summer Robotics & Drone Camp.
